Discover sociability.

Sociability means the joy of connecting with one another. It’s just one of the qualities that makes life in Black Mountain so special and draws visitors from all over the world to our gem of a mountain town.

Events Calendar

From the Black Mountain Tailgate Market to the Park Rhythms Concert Series, there are so many events taking place year-round in our community! Discover them by visiting the town’s events calendar, which is updated independently by members of our community and hosted by our friends at My Carolina Mountain Life.

Music, Arts & Culture

Nature’s artistry surrounds our town, providing inspiration for the creatives who call our community home. In Black Mountain, you’ll find galleries, shops, restaurants, breweries, and other venues that feature local artists’ work plus host exhibits, live music, theatre, dancing, and more. In addition, the four venues featured below have made it their non-profit mission to champion arts and culture.

Let’s make a weekend of it! Visit each Black Mountain festival/event website for details.

Parks & Trails

We know you’re drawn to Black Mountain for its natural beauty. We are, too. Tragically, Hurricane Helene’s waters and winds caused significant damage to many natural areas in the Swannanoa Valley. The good news is, several Town parks have reopened partially or fully and the clean-up is ongoing. CLICK HERE for information.

Meanwhile, clean-up efforts are on-going throughout Western North Carolina state parks and trails. Refer to the official North Carolina State Park interactive map to check the current status of a specific state park or trail.

The Blue Ridge Parkway IS OPEN near Black Mountain and Asheville. The National Parks Service provides information about ongoing repairs all along the Parkway. Click to view a list of Parkway openings/closures and an interactive map.
