Town of Black Mountain launches website for travel, tourism, and economic development

BLACK MOUNTAIN, NC (October 25, 2024) — In support of connecting visitors to local businesses and destination experiences, the Town of Black Mountain recently launched discoverblackmountain.org.

Included in the website are directories for stores (including online shopping), restaurants, services, and visitor accommodations like hotels, B&Bs, and rental management companies. Visitors can also find information about music, art, and cultural activities including annual festivals and year-round events. It also has a directory of private event venues and services. The site also features a blog and interactive map.

Currently, the website is being updated daily as owners of shops, restaurants, breweries, hotels, and other entrepreneurs notify the Town of their open status throughout our recovery from Hurricane Helene. There are already over 115 businesses and cultural organizations included throughout the site’s directories.

In the long run, the Town will continue to tell the stories of Black Mountain and our neighbors in the Swannanoa Valley through the website, giving visitors creative inspiration and useful information as they plan their visit to the charming mountain community. The site will also be used to share economic development milestones and opportunities.
